Our history, what we believe, and our commitments

Love Unconditional

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

—James 1:27

Our history

Love Unconditional (formerly Orphans & Widows Care Ministry) is a ministry of The Vineyard Church of Hopkinton, a non-profit 501c3 organization.

This ministry was established in July 2007 in response to needs identified by local leaders at Iglesia La Viña in Montellano in the Dominican Republic.

Its creation has been inspired by their loving concern for their neighbors, dedication to serve, and heart to reach out to the poor.

What we believe

  • Every person is created in God’s image.
  • Every child has the right to safe shelter, education, food, and the opportunity to grow up in a nurturing environment.
  • A holistic approach is necessary. It is not enough to meet physical needs. We are spiritual beings in need of hope and a future.
  • True religion includes caring for orphans and widows.

Our commitments

We are committed to partnering with native church efforts, sharing Jesus’ message of love for the poor, and reaching out to orphans and widows.

We will strive to temper compassion with wisdom in all our efforts, value each others’ contributions, treat each person with dignity and respect, and engage in open and honest communications.
